How We Do It
-
Peer-Led Model: At the heart of everything we do is the power of shared experience, guided by the CHIME framework (Connection, Hope, Identity, Meaning, Empowerment). This ensures recovery is member-focused, practical, and inspiring.
-
Flat Hierarchy: We operate with a flat hierarchy, where all voices are valued equally. Members, volunteers, and staff work together collaboratively, fostering a sense of shared ownership and mutual respect.
-
Holistic and Individualised Support: Our approach considers the whole person, addressing emotional, social, and practical needs alongside recovery. From one-to-one tailored support to group activities, we empower individuals to thrive in every area of life.
-
Community Focused: We create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for everyone, where people can connect, share experiences, and find joy in their recovery journey.
-
Collaborative Partnerships: By working with organisations like CAVDAS, universities, and treatment providers, we embed peer support into substance use systems, extending our reach and impact.
-
Volunteer and Member Driven: Recovery Cymru is powered by a passionate community of individuals with lived experience. Volunteers and members are essential to our community’s growth and success.
