Litter Legends: Showing Up for Change
Date: Saturday, 28th June 2025
Time: 9.30am – 11am
Location: Around the block of the Recovery Centre, Canton, and beyond
Join us for a community litter pick to raise funds for Recovery Cymru’s volunteer programme! Our volunteers show up every day to support others on their recovery journey—now it’s your turn to show up and make a difference.
Why Get Involved?
This isn’t just a litter pick—it’s a chance to support those who make a real impact in our community. By gathering sponsors and taking part, you’ll help us reach our £2,000 fundraising goal. Every pound raised will go directly towards:
-
Volunteer support: Covering travel, food, and essentials so volunteers can participate and give back
-
Training and development: Providing skills sessions to ensure safe and effective volunteer support
-
Community engagement: Helping volunteers raise awareness and connect with people across the community
-
Volunteer recognition: Supporting thank-yous and celebrations for our dedicated volunteers
How to Get Involved:
-
Sign Up: Register to take part and become a Litter Legend: Event Sign Up
-
Get Sponsored: We’ll provide you with a sponsorship form and online fundraising page to make collecting donations easy.
-
Join Us: On the day, we’ll supply gloves, bags, and all the necessary equipment—you just bring your energy, enthusiasm, and your sponsors!
-
Challenge Stigma: By joining, you’ll be showing up for your community, challenging stigma, and making a visible difference.
Can’t Take Part?
No worries—you can still make a difference by donating to support our Litter Legends. If you’re sponsoring someone, be sure to include their name and a message of encouragement when you donate. You can donate directly here until Sunday 12th July 2025: Localgiving Page
