VOLUNTEERING ROLES

We offer a host of volunteering roles. Here is a selection.

Group Facilitation

Recovery Cymru offers our members a variety of groups and courses to support them in their on-going recovery. We are always seeking dedicated and reliable facilitators to first assist and then lead these activities. Volunteers will receive the necessary training and support in these roles..

Administration and Centre Support

First impressions count and our volunteers are key to offering a reassuring welcome, both in our receptions and over the telephone, to people who are in early recovery and feeling particularly nervous or vulnerable. Many of our members cite the warm welcome they received on first visiting Recovery Cymru as the reason for their return and the subsequent maintenance of their recovery.

Buddying

Our buddy’s are people with lived experience who offer members friendly, non-judgmental support in a variety of ways, including meet and greet; welcome and introductory sessions; on the spot support to discuss an issue, engagement in RC and assisting with onwards referrals. A challenging role with intensive training and a lot of rewards. Excellent experience for those looking to support others or move onto paid employment.

Outreach

Going to the people. Offering awareness raising, support sessions or peer groups in services and community settings.

Social media support

At Recovery Cymru we want to share the good work we do with our members, funders and local community – including fundraising events, workshops and support programmes. We are looking to build our social media team so please get in touch if this would be of interest to you!
